Catholic Charities DC has 52 programs in 32 locations across Washington, D.C., and Maryland that support individuals and families struggling with poverty, homelessness, hunger, and more. Because of their incredible reach, many supporters and beneficiaries were only familiar with a few of the programs and were surprised to hear about the breadth of their impact.
Goal
We aimed to create an emotionally compelling story while informing people of what Catholic Charities do.
We wanted to use emotional storytelling while also conveying specific information. The video would be shared at their annual gala and an ongoing tool to introduce potential donors to the organization to raise $3.1 million dollars.
Approach
Our team worked closely with Catholic Charities DC staff to learn about their different programs and their impact on the lives of those they serve. Together we chose to feature the programs that would allow donors to see the impact without too much explanation would allow people to connect to the work. In addition, we would include a short testimonial from a client who benefited from multiple programs to show how they all tied together.
Results: A Record-breaking evening
The video played to huge success at their annual gala with over 1,600 people in attendance. People were amazed at all the incredible work Catholic Charities DC was doing right here in our backyard. Many viewers were inspired to donate or volunteer their time to support this worthy cause.
Over $8,000,000 was raised, and the video is now being used to introduce the what and why of Catholic Charities D.C. online.
We were thrilled to partner with Catholic Charities DC to create this video. By sharing their story, we hope more people will become aware of their great work and be inspired to get involved.
